Often the choice of which video game to play is decided for me depending on if my oldest daughter or my brother are online. If it's just my daughter, I like to play Borderlands 2 (PC). However, if my wife is also willing to get online (and my son, but Trevor's almost always online anyway), we can pull up a game of Civilization V (PC). Should my brother be online, we tend to play Starcraft II (PC). Lately, we've even been inviting Trevor to play. Should my second daughter be home and free of obligations, we now play Return to Donkey Kong Country (Wii). If she and my second son are both free, the game is Raymond Legends (PS3). If she and my wife are looking to play games, we tend to play Mario Kart 8 (Wii U - we try to make at least some time for this every day). Should my brother-in-law be over, the game is Diablo III (PS3 - although we recently finished our first play-through on it and I don't know if we are going to do a second).
Should others be involved in other things while leaving me to my own devices, I still have a wide range of choices. Currently, I need to finish Far Cry 4 (PC) which my brother gave me last year but I wasn't able to run until I got my new CPU. I also have been working at Valkyria Chronicles (PC) which I picked up during last week's Steam Summer Sale, but there are only so many cut scenes that I can take. I also just started Assassin's Creed: Rogue (PS3) and am looking forward to playing that.
I am also quite interested in playing Skyrim (PC) some more, and I've made a little progress in Mass Effect (PS3) for which I have its two sequels to also play. Another purchase from last week's Steam sale that I am looking forward to play is Fallout: New Vegas (PC). I also picked up Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen (PS3), but I'm not as certain about that one as the onscreen action was a little too confusing for me.
There are also a number of other games that I either haven't played or want to play again. I find that time is simply not on my side, which is why I tend to be a little picky about which games I play. No wonder I get so little writing done ...
