Anyway, I believe he needs a new motherboard and CPU (I'm not sure which fried) and the RAM that goes with it. Unfortunately, that is not an expense that we want to take on at the moment. He still has access to other computers for his homework, and it might be good if he took a break from the amount of games he was playing anyway, but I still feel terrible about it.
Meanwhile, after months of sitting in a camp chair with a seat cushion on it, I finally have a chair that can allow me to reach the top of my desk. It's not a high quality seat, but it does have adjustable height, arm rests, and a mesh back. At least I can now access my keyboard comfortably without trying to balance it on my lap. I am still experimenting with whether I should use my tailbone-protecting seat cushion with it or not. If the seat is comfortable enough, I would prefer not to have the extra cushion as the height puts the chair back a little too low for my taste. Only time will tell.
Maybe Trevor can tell me how much he likes it as he sits at my computer ...
