In truth, I haven't been handling it well. Right now the sun looks to be in a spot that I associate with "dinner time" yet I really should be getting ready for bed. This is one of the reasons that I haven't been getting to bed until after midnight these past few days. It's too easy to think I have more time when my mind is thinking "there's plenty of daylight left."
The summer sun certainly has its advantages. Our drive in from Anchorage, despite being from 11:00 pm to 2 am was bright enough that, while I needed my headlights, I felt that I could clearly see the area around me (including some of the normal, spectacular mountain vistas--obscured only slightly by a line of rain that we passed through). It also makes it easier to get work done outside.
I like the extra light. However, I also appreciate the extra curtains that Janelle puts up in our bedroom.
