In order to give our dogs an area where they can run around and play together outside without tangling (and breaking) dog chains, we hired Four Seasons Fence to put up a chain link fence in the area between the house and the garage. The process took a while, but the end result looks quite nice. Most importantly, the dogs seem to love the area. They can run together run at full speed without dragging around chains from their collars.
Hopefully, we will also be able to play outside with them in there (after picking up after them). I'm also hoping that the area will give me a better chance to teach them to come and to heel. They've been getting better when on the leash, but still seem to need practice when released from any sort of tether.
I was a little concerned about it looking like an eyesore, but it actually works well in the spot. I'm quite glad that we did not try to do it ourselves as I don't think it would have turned out half as well. Now the question will be if the dogs will try to dig out an escape or not.
