We took it home and hooked up the Super Nintendo. While the DVD portion no longer functions, the boys were able to play Super Bomberman for a while. The unit was apparently in a smoker's house, but it was a nice bonus to the day.
Janelle had also recently picked up a shower-hose adapter for our jacuzzi tub's faucet to help with giving the boys a bath. It was difficult to get over the faucet head with two soapy boys shivering in the way. Turning on the water forced enough pressure to knock the contraption clean over, spraying everyone. Trying to put it back on with the water still running was not anything close to a success. I made another attempt to attach it more snugly, but this time the water scared the boy who was holding the shower end for me, causing him to drop it so it pointed directly at my face at a point that I still had not turned on the hot water tap.
We eventually got it to work, and then managed to dry the boys, me, and the floor (although there's a cardboard box that may not recover). The boys both asked that we never try it again. They said that they prefered just using the cup to rinse off. I tend to agree.
