A good deal of the day was focused on Connor building his fire starting skills. It’s is still his primary worry for tomorrow’s main test for wilderness survival. As we seem to be drying out, and getting a bit warmer, I am increasingly confident that he will do fine.
He must bring the following on his test: a sleeping bag, knife, water bottle, flashlight, rain gear, and bug spray.
He can bring as much of the following (natural only, no manufactured chemicals) that can fit in a can: twine, tinder bundle, and a fire starter.
He is also nearly finished with the first of his two woodworking projects and later got to work on earning a fingerprinting merit badge. All told, he’s been pretty busy.
