Today, we got right to work. For the first time this session, I hit wall of fatigue. After our first break (at which I only ate a mandarin orange), I found that my eyes wanted to close and that I had to keep rereading the same sentences. I used a winter fresh Lifesaver, and stood for a while until the feeling passed. I’m going to try and go to sleep earlier tonight, so maybe that will help tomorrow.
For the first time, I walked the 1.5 miles to the convention center both from and to my hotel. Google says the trip takes a bit over half an hour, but I made each trip in around 22 minutes without really pushing. The walk is interesting as it goes over railroad tracks and an Interstate (for that matter, the convention center goes over the top of the Interstate too).
This evening I attended the forum that talked about all of the changes to AP World for next year and the resources that they are providing to help. I’m quite eager to teach the course, but it’s going to be a lot of work. They ended with a reception at the Westin which has an interesting waterfall centerpiece. I have included a picture of the Sheraton’s lobby (also interesting) for comparison.
I also put in a picture of the Sheraton from the “hamster hall” Link passage as well as a couple of nightscapes from my hotel floor.
