It's been a dry several weeks. With the relative lack of snow this winter, the area has become a bit of a tinderbox. Thus far, I haven't been worried about the area immediately around our house as there are plenty of mosquito-breeding pools nearby, but with several people talking about some of the fires in the past couple of years, I can't help but be a little concerned for the safety of others.
I've always been a bit odd when it comes to wanting rain. Like my love for snow, my praying for rain has sometimes been met with derision. So we're clear, I don't care for rain the way that I do for snow. I simply prefer to cheer for rain (in moderate, non-torrential amounts) before a drought can start rather than after.
Currently, there's not a lot of rain in our forecast. Still, I plan on packing my rain jacket for practice just in case.
