The sun's rays through this give an other-worldly cast to everything around, reminding me a bit of sci-fi movies set on Mars. I'm certain that Superman would be concerned with the current shade of the sun. I really feel for those firefighters and emergency services workers who are deeper in the fumes of this fire. Thankfully, the air is relatively clear during the day.
We took a couple of hours to go to a friend's house that was beyond the reach of this malignant cloud. The boys had the opportunity to swim and kayak for a while. It wasn't until we returned home that I remembered the smoke that was hanging out above us.
I'm praying for a change in weather patterns that can help give some reprieve from this dark cloud.
