That's not to say it did not have issues. The movie was designed to keep Trevor out of the room as scene after scene was loaded with embarrassing aspects. Meanwhile, Rowen had some issues with how scary the bad guy was, but he still said he loved the movie. For me, aside from a few story quibbles, my big issue was the costuming. I love Zachary Levi, but his suit--as well as Djimon Hounsou's outfit, especially the wig--bothered me every time I saw them.
As for Connor, he loved the movie and said it is one of his favorites. The movie was a great deal of fun to watch, with some good character development and a solid message. I've not been a fan of Shazam (or Captain Marvel) in the comics, but the movie did a good job of making a relatable superhero that I would like to see more of. Hopefully, this is where DC starts to turn the tide again in its films.
