Jesus tells His disciples "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world give do I give it to you." Jesus gives us all His peace, but it's not the peace that we have often been taught. He doesn't mean that we will not see troubles, conflict, pain, or death. In fact, He was passing on this peace to His disciples just hours before they were scattered and He was tortured and murdered.
Instead, Jesus gives us a peace that transcends the world and our Earthly existence. It is the peace of knowing that He is here for us and loves us through all of the difficulties that we face. We are never alone in our trials.
Jesus's life demonstrates this peace all the way to His violent death when He forgave those who had brought Him to it. We, too, can find peace by accepting God's love in our lives.
