As a "veteran," I was paired with an "acorn" (a first year reader) to do our first folder of essays together. As anyone who has met me knows, I love being considered an expert, so today was gratifying in that way as well.
I was, however, accosted on my way back to the hotel by one of the homeless people who patrol the street corners. I was on the phone with Janelle when a bloodshot man first approached another pedestrian who was stopped at the light with me who quickly moved out of the way. The homeless man then told me to get off the phone and bumped into me. I told him to back off and he did, muttering. The light turned and I crossed with the other guy waiting for the light. The homeless man followed us halfway across the street and then returned to his corner. Considering Alex's experience in Ecuador, I did check to make certain I didn't lose my wallet in the encounter.
I wonder if that's another reason why I don't feel like going back out tonight.
