What I do remember about the homily was that the people of Brazil celebrate today's feast day in a similar way to how we celebrate Christmas. Nearly 6th months stand between the two feasts. As stated in the homily, it makes sense that the Southern Hemisphere would want to have a larger celebration as they are coming out of the darker portion of their year just as the Northern Hemisphere celebrates Christmas for a similar reason.
In like that we have celebrations that follow the turning of seasons. They remind us that life is full of cycles and renewals. Hopefully, this means that the mistakes I made today will become a renewal in my own playing.
