It's an older mattress. We purchased it when we moved into the student apartments at Spring Arbor University (then called Spring Arbor College) back in the fall of 1996. Two years ago, we had to stop the regular flipping of the mattress because I could feel one of the springs under my ribs. Now I'm afraid that we've worn out the other side.
I still prefer my bed to other beds that I've slept in. Our trip up north this summer made me realize just how much I had grown accustomed to it. Other mattresses just seem too soft. And that's one of my dilemmas: how do we choose a new mattress that treats us better than our current one, but still gives us the support that we prefer? (The other main dilemma is how do we pay for it when we're struggling to pay our bills as is right now.)
All I know is that I need something that will help me sleep a bit easier. I'm tired of being tired after having just woken up.
