I feel that the presentation today--with which I may have mentioned some concerns about yesterday--went pretty well. The library had a good sized crowd in it by the time that I started. I felt a growing interest rise among the attendees as I talked about why I wanted to do this trip. That interest turned into an excitement which surged through the room as I spoke about some of the places that we are going to tour which includes the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, Pompeii, the Acropolis, Olympic Stadium, and Delphi.
By the end, I do not think that it was a question of "if" anyone in the room wanted to go, but rather "how" could they get there. Already, out of the 36 spots that I was looking to fill, 10 have been taken (not including Connor or me). I don't know if that's a good thing, but the template email I had ready to send was preset with only 4 spots filled, so it seems like a good beginning.
I will say that I was worn out by the end. That one hour almost felt like an additional full day of teaching today (which is usually pretty exhausting on its own). Hopefully, I will sleep well with pleasant dreams about the wondrous places that this trip will take us.
