It's not that I was rushed as I ended up with more time than I thought, nor that it was under-researched as I probably used too many sources, but that I still don't have the analytical flow going with my writing. I like the voice I have in my conversational writings, and I don't like giving it up. I also am not the best at researching. Often, I know that there is research out there to support a point that I'm trying to make, but I can't find the right fit. Instead, I often find myself either writing a position that I don't believe is right just to fit the information or shoehorning research that is close to what I was trying to say but that doesn't quite fit.
Hopefully things will get easier once I get a better grasp on my writing. It has been over twelve years since I finished my master's program. Sometimes, I feel that my time teaching students (even at the college level) researching and writing strategies has actually dulled my own abilities as I often have to tone down my explanations and even provide nearly paint-by-numbers writing structures.
By the time I had finished with my master's program, I was routinely having professors praise my writing and even use it as examples (even my master's thesis). Currently, my grades are getting dinged for niggling matters (and some unclear requirements). I will get better. I plan on wowing people again.
