Mark of the Wizard: The Rogue and the Bride
This was my first complete large work in a world of my own design (Dragon World). The overall plot was developed during a Writing Circle that I held after school during the 2001-2002 school year. Several students, teachers, and other friends helped me create this.
In a realm where magic is forbidden, Rachel must hide her gift or face death. Betrothed to a king whom she hardly knows, Rachel courts danger even further by befriending a handsome rogue. When her friend is captured, Rachel must rescue him and try to escape. Accompanied by her maid and a bard, Rachel and the rogue find themselves pursued by an angry king, vicious mage hunters, and dark forces they do not comprehend. Rachel must find the power within herself to survive. She quickly discovers that, in a world of magic, very little is what it appears.
