However, I understand the hesitancy. It's like having a house guest. Even if they don't say anything about the mess, there's still the feeling of judgment. For that matter, there are parts of the mess which we might not be ready to set straight. It seems petty, but our foibles have often become a part of who we are, and we might not want the help to set them straight or the judgment for liking them in the first place.
The thing is--I believe that God understands that. He knows who we are better than we do ourselves. He sees us as we truly are, not just who we see in our reflection. Knowing all of that, He still rode into Jerusalem knowing that it would lead to His death just to save us--no matter how messy we are.
