This one didn't disappoint. It had all of the explosions and robot versus robot action that one could hope for. I even appreciated to large-scale plot in a "see the forest for the trees" sort of way. Although there were plenty of cringe-worthy moments, I liked how the story tied into the larger narrative that the other movies had created and also managed to build for future stories while still creating a satisfactory conclusion to the movie.
That said, those "cringe-worthy" moments still bring the series far short of what it could otherwise be. While pretty much anything to do with humans in this series has usually been terrible [with only occasional exceptions], I especially despise the crude personalities that this series has created for the Autobots themselves. In my mind, they should be heroes whose greatest fault is their compassion. Instead, even Optimus Prime's normally heroic presence was rather tarnished in this film.
Still, I enjoyed it, and the boys loved it. In the end, I suppose that's what these movies are really about.
