Those of you that have been expecting something different from him, I want you to take this moment and consider how you got to that point. He told you that he won; he did not. He told you that there was evidence of widespread fraud; there was not. He told you that the courts would go in his favor; they did not. He told you that the electoral college would change their votes for him; they did not. He told you that Vice-President Pence would somehow invalidate certain states' electoral votes; he did not. He told you that he would meet you at the Capitol; he did not.
None of this is a surprise to those of us who have been truly paying attention and not just listening to what Trump wanted us to hear. We have pointed out his lies and false promises since before he was even nominated. Time and again, we have told you that he was just saying what you wanted to hear so that he could gain more power and wealth for himself. We warned you that the propaganda you followed was giving you a false view of the world, our nation, and our President.
I know that you still don't want that to be true. I know that some of you are continuing to hold onto false notions and desperate theories. You have built such a wall of fantasy around yourself that recognizing Trump and his lies for what he and they are would make it seem like your world is crumbling around you. It would mean admitting that you made a mistake (or many mistakes) and that you might not have anything tangible to believe in anymore.
We all make mistakes. We can all be misled. I remain here for you. I can help you find a better path. Please stop believing those sources that tell you not to trust me because I have information that differs from yours. I don't know all of the answers, but as friends, we can seek them out together.
