Otherwise, I have piles (well, electronic stacks) of assignments to grade that have been turned in throughout the day. Our third quarter ended today, and with spring eligibility tied to it, many students took a sudden interest in their grades. I have moved to an extremely generous late policy which does lead to some students to procrastinate, but I'm more concerned about those who were not rushing to get work done. I also have to be on a higher guard for plagiarism, especially as students try to "help" their friends out by letting them copy their assignments. I had all of the big assignment caught up by the end of the day, only to have a few more students turn some more of them in after school (nearly all of my classes' assignments are turned in electronically; all of them can be).
We finally got Connor to a barber--and one who knew the language of Eldin Ring--after school. Once I got home, I finally made my way to our storage shed (it is not easy to get to at the moment) so I could get some suitcases and our Christmas tree box (I figured that I should probably put it away before heading out on spring break). I'm bringing a larger suitcase with the intention on getting souvenirs. It's likely been 40 years or more since the last time I was at the Capitol, so I figure I should probably stock up on this trip.
Connor then had one final basketball game. After returning from Kenai, we ate dinner, I did some more packing, and I wrote this blog. Tomorrow, I need to finish grading, get the first parts of my classes for the next quarter up on Canvas, and finish packing before heading to the Kenai airport for one of their last flights out. Our flight in Anchorage takes off at 2:55 the following morning.
You know, I should probably get some sleep.
