The other day, the boys chose to watch the first of the Chronicles of Narnia movie: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The entire story is an allusion to our world and Christ's battles with the Devil. Aslan's sacrifice on the Stone Table is a direct recreation of Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross. I feel that the scene in the movie is done quite well as it moves me every time that I see it.
Whatever suffering we are going through, Jesus takes it upon Himself as well, even if that suffering is due to our own ignorance or actions. He truly is the Good Shepherd, guiding us, sometimes chastising us, but loving and protecting us no matter the cost to Him. It would be nice if we made His job a bit easier for Him.
