On top of that, Janelle doesn't like Mera. While I feel that part of it is jealousy, Janelle doesn't feel as comfortable driving a car which is that low to the ground. She also feels more vulnerable in Mera in general and hates having to drive her on those occasions that we need to swap vehicles. It was primarily for this reason that I was looking at getting a hybrid or electric SUV--such as the Toyota Rav 4.
I was also thinking that Trevor would have his license by now and would want a car of his own to drive around. With Connor turning 16 this year, I figured that it would be easier to figure out using three vehicles between the four of us than just two. Were that the case, I would prefer that Mera take the role of that third vehicle due to her dependability rather than trying to get a less-reliable used vehicle from somewhere else.
However, Trevor is still showing no interest in driving, let alone owning a vehicle. While Connor might want a car of his own, I'm not quite ready for that, especially as it would make him the primary driver on Mera--significantly increasing our insurance. Meanwhile, I don't really need a new vehicle as Mera has been doing fine for me despite the issues above.
Considering that car prices and car loans are not at their best right now, it's probably for the best that I stick with Mera anyway.
