I picked up an adjustable basketball backboard and hoop today. Currently, it is sitting in its box in our garage as I'm going to wait until it stops raining before setting it up. It's one of those portable ones where the base can be filled with water or sand to stabilize it.
I liked having a basketball hoop by our driveway when I was in high school and again when we lived in Jackson. My favorite time, though, was when we lived in the student family apartments in Fairbanks with the half court just outside of our door. Although I've never been good at playing basketball, there's something comforting about dribbling the ball and taking shots.
Basically, while it may seem that I got this hoop for Connor to get in more shot practice, the truth is that I got it for me.
