Considering Ranger's playfulness, I think that Satin is with the rest of us in wanting a bigger space. There just aren't enough places to hide from Ranger or the boys. I think her favorite spot is on my and Janelle's bed while one of us is reading. She can be quite insistent that we show her the affection that she believes she is due.
Since Ranger's adventure outside (which ended with him hiding terrified under the car), neither has shown much of a desire to go out. They don't rush the door or meow for us to take them with us. Which is just as well considering that the temperature has been sub zero the past couple of mornings.
Even though having pets limited our renting options and caused Janelle quite a bit of difficulty on the way up, I'm really glad that they made the trip. While pets can be a hindrance to travel, an occasional nuisance, and a bit of an expense, the calm and affection that they bring more than makes up for any troubles.
