One of the disadvantages of such fast growth is that so many people are struggling to stay abreast of what is possible and what can be used. Especially in the realm of education, where teachers continually find themselves in front of groups of people with entirely different experiences with technology than they had, this can present a daunting challenge. However, this challenge branches into our own lives.
Beyond just staying current with technology, we are dealing with quick changes to our society as well. We are changing the way that we are entertained, the way that we stay informed, and the even the way that we communicate with one another. This means some changes in our mindsets and behavior.
Unfortunately, humans are intrinsically lazy creatures. We do not like having to change the way we do things. This brings about an increase in conflict as people try to act the way they always have in our increasingly interconnected world. If we really want to move forward as a species, we need to do better at working together to make certain that we are driving technology rather than allowing technology to drive us.
