I was a bit smarter about how we used the ladder this year and thus was able to get the lights a bit more even on the tall windows that overlook our stairway. Thankfully, no one had to pull off the daredevil moves that Katrina used last year to get them up there. This is a good thing since no one here, not even Connor, likes being up on the ladder, let alone balanced on the edge of the windowsill (that still gives me shivers). All told, I feel that our lights are looking even better this year.
I love Christmas lights. They bring a wonderful cheerfulness to these darker days. Although the other Christmas decorations will come down soon after Epiphany, I like to keep the lights up until early March, when the sun starts to regain its prominence in the sky.
