Lately, this inquisitiveness has branched into the culinary realm. His creations have ranged from the relatively tame areas of brownies and smoothies, to more bizarre realms--such as using a protein-washing process on flour to make a meatless "chicken" dish. Some (like the meatless "chicken") do not go over well, while others (such as his recent chocolate-dipped ice cream tacos) are absolutely amazing.
More often, he's been taking on the role of chef for our evening dinners. I've been really impressed with how his skills and ideas have been maturing while still keeping that imaginative spark. I'm interested to see what he will do next.
