Both Israel and Hamas are in the wrong. Using humans and hospitals as shields to send out death and destruction has no moral standing. Killing innocents and destroying their ability to get basic human necessities is also on the side of evil. There is no easy solution to this humanitarian crisis that has been going on for generations, but blowing people up is not the answer.
The economy is booming, inflation is down, and wages are up, but many average Americans are still feeling the pinch from the massive spikes of inflation due to COVID, the Russian-Ukraine war, and other supply-chain bottlenecks. This means that things are not as bad nor as great as either side is making them out to be.
Both Biden and Trump are too old to serve the 2025-2029 term of President. Biden would be 87 by the end of the term, and Trump would be 83. We have yet to have a person from Generation X serve as President--every President starting with Clinton has been a Baby Boomer.
The price of oil is higher with more oil in production than it ever was under President Trump, yet Alaska's legislators are still talking about the need to make tough cuts to the budget. They are almost unanimously ignoring that Alaska's budgetary issues come from a ten year-old tax change (Senate Bill 21) that was supposed to increase oil development, but instead just gave tax breaks to oil companies who have been making record profits while drying up the revenue for the state.
The abbreviations C.E. and B.C.E. as replacements for A.D. and B.C. is not part of an attack on Christianity; it's a matter of accuracy. It's continually ridiculous (especially as we approach Christmas) to use the phrase "before Christ" when Jesus was born four to eight years before our first year in our common era. What was special about the year 1 C.E.? Pretty much nothing, but it begins our commonly accepted calendar due to an estimation error from hundreds of years ago. It's not like most people use A.D. correctly anyway [note: it doesn't go after the year].
People don't like the use of the salt "slurry" on the roads, but are complaining about how terrible the roads are where it hasn't been used. The systems they were used to in the past don't work as well in the present simply due to there being more vehicles in the area--let alone changes in climate and weather patterns.
When someone hires an "expert" witness for $900,000 to testify on their behalf in a field which is outside their expertise, it's safe to say that the testimony will not be credible.
It is possible for America to be the greatest nation in the history of the world and to still have faults. It is necessary to identify and acknowledge faults to work on repairing them. People who want to hide those faults are not patriots.
Abortion is an abomination that is always wrong. However, no person should be forced to save another person's life by giving up months or years of their own lives often at risk to their own safety. Our nation currently honors the rights of a dead person who refused to have their organs save the lives of others more than it does women's rights to make decisions about their own bodies. As much as I might disagree with their ultimate decision, women should (at a minimum) have more rights than corpses.
If you complain (especially often or loudly) about the loss of Christian values in our nation, but then vote for politicians who turn away refugees, cut programs that feed the hungry, or vote against better healthcare, YOU are the problem.
... And these are among the reasons why I cannot run for public office.
