The same thing is true for how I spend my time. I am certainly attracted to playing video games or reading imaginative tales. While I don't believe that either is really bad for me, my time would be much better spent working on my dissertation, crafting my own stories, or working on imaginative solutions to getting my students to learn. Again, my cravings seem to be directed in the wrong direction.
It's almost as though life is designed like a video game. Difficult paths usually lead to the greatest rewards. Still, it would be nice to have my cravings line up with what is healthier for me.
