A few days ago, the LED lights in my refrigeration decided that just providing a dim light (like they have for the past month) was not annoying enough for us to replace them, so they began to do their strobe light impression. It is visually painful to look into our refrigerator now. We've only had this fridge for a year and a half.
When I looked up the problem online, I discovered that other customers with more knowledge in electronics have isolated the issue to faulty dimmer switches on the chips that hold the LEDs. Unfortunately, the only solution is to pull out the entire light package and replace it with a new one; although, supposedly the new replacements don't have the dimmer switch (which makes me wonder why they had one to begin with ... oh, wait).
I'm looking forward to the day when saying "They don't make them like the used to" suggests that products are well-designed and built to last.
