I also played guitar at a resurrection mass this afternoon. There were many people there, enough to stuff the parking lot. While I did not know the deceased, I was quite moved by the amount of emotion in the church. One of the odder things about attending funerals is that I tend to think about what mine will be like. The best ones provide people a chance to reconnect and share with one another, perhaps even reviving waning relationships. The main thing I hope about mine is that it will be a long way off.
The boys and I watched the 1980s Batman movie today. I have always thought of the movie as being a bit corny, but I forgot how dark it was as well. There was a surprising amount of death (including deaths caused by Batman) in this movie. More than anything, it made me want to watch the Christopher Nolan take on the series.
