Michigan Tech thankfully streamed the ceremony live. While I slept through the first hour, I did start watching at 7:30 am (Alaska Time). The boys periodically joined me, but all three were up in my office in time to see Alex cross the stage. I both wished that I could have been there and was glad that I didn't have to try and sit through it with the boys. Janelle was working, but the ceremony should be posted online in the next couple of days. Thankfully, Katrina and Alex's godfather were in physical attendance to cheer her on and keep her company.
This April was also our first month in our new house. While it's been a month of making improvements, I've only been coming to love this place more and more. There are some frustrations and quirks that we are still working on, but I really hope that more people get a chance to see it as we settle in.
This month also saw my debut as a hurdles coach for track. While there are still a few weeks left, and my last meet had two of my girl hurdlers crying after their event (one fall and one damaged ego), I'm still greatly enjoying the experience. I'm still not certain that I'm the best person to coach hurdles (having never even run them before), but I'm grateful that I've had this chance and wouldn't say no in the future.
The Yeagers also were the first of our post-move house guests this month. We had a good meal as families and even introduced them to the game of Carcassonne (without any expansions). The kids certainly slept well that night.
It's been another month of blessings for us. May May be as kind.
