Looking back, most of August was spent preparing for and starting my new job. Time certainly passes more quickly when one is planning and working day by day. I'm finally to the point that I'm planned out a full week ahead, with ideas for farther out. I hope to be at least planned through the semester by the end of the month.
Thankfully, August saw Janelle's schedule shift away from the extremely early mornings that required her to go to bed before the boys, as well as a lighter schedule overall. We have been able to spend more time together, enjoying shows like the Defenders and Game of Thrones.
August also saw the completion of several homeowner tasks that had been hanging over my head. There are still a few that remain that I really should do before we get into freezing temperatures again. Still, it was nice to have that sense of accomplishment.
I also finished my residency and my two summer classes for Walden. Although another just started up, I feel that I've been making good progress in my doctorate program. Time is a little tight at the moment, but I hope to keep building on my current momentum.
Looking forward, I know that the next few months are also going to fly by. I need to remember to take the time to enjoy them too.
