Our classes are significantly shorter tomorrow to make time for the end of semester winter assembly that we are holding at the end of the day. While some of my students will still be working to get their grade up in my classes, I will be teaching most of them the game "Psychiatrist"--a fun party game of questions, observation skills, and patterns. In between classes, I will be playing Christmas songs in the hallway. During my preparation period, I am delivering some singing telegrams for the choir's fundraiser. Meanwhile, my DDF team is one of the final activities for the assembly. They have a great script dealing with the "Christmas Truce" of World War I. To me, the message is even more powerful this year.
I finished off and uploaded the last parts of our school's initial accreditation portfolio, so I next need to work on doing some initial setup for the presentation that we need to give the week after we return from break. Once the school day is over, I am not going to leave the building until my grading is finished and those grades are officially submitted. I have one student who has an extension through the break, but I will wait until we return to sort that out.
With grades out of the way, I can focus on planning for the next semester. I have a tight schedule once we get back to school from break and no student aide. Thus, I want to get as much of that taken care of as I can (especially for January and February) before our guests arrive next week.
I just can't forget to bring my Christmas music, guitar, and Santa hat.
