The puppies are still going crazy when they see me exercising. Any exercise where my head is near the floor (push ups, sit ups, etc.) is quite a challenge if they have access to me (i.e. someone leaves the gate to the upstairs open). They keep trying to lick my face or get under me in some way. Any jumping exercise (burpees, jumping jacks, etc.) makes them go crazy. They act a bit scared and start barking at me until they get used to the exercise.
My younger boys have also been quite funny. Some days Connor will join in and keep pace with my whole routine. Having been told recently that he has a "six-pack," Connor has become a bit obsessed with exercising. He especially enjoys the toes to "bar" exercise that we do on the rings we have outside. Meanwhile, Rowen usually only joins for one out of the group of exercises that I am doing, saying that he's mostly "a runner."
Although I have been consistent, I certainly have not been as dedicated as I was during the school year. Today, I pulled out a jump rope that has been sitting in a box for quite a while, and I discovered just how uncoordinated I have become. By the end of the school year, I was able to do a hundred single jumps without stopping. Today, the best I could do was seventy, and that was an outlier as most of my attempts stopped after three or four. I blame the rope.
This has been bleeding a lot of time. While the exercises themselves take some time, picking which ones I am going to do and working up the energy to start usually take longer than the exercises themselves. I need to streamline the process more to make it a more sustainable activity when things get busier.
