We have cabin guests this month from one of the Carolinas. The young daughter was absolutely enchanted by the falling snow. I walked over to leave a snow shovel at the cabin and to tell them to feel free to use our sleds. The news somehow managed to fill the young girl with even more joy and energy. I had just walked out as I was to let them know since I knew that I wouldn't be out for long. I realized that I was wearing my purple Hawaiian shirt without any kind of jacket when the mother started laughing and said, "You're out here in your short sleeves like its nothing while I'm bundled up and freezing?!"
I smiled and said, "Welcome to Alaska," before heading back to the house.
