I had already looked at the Apple watch and some of the Samsung equivalents, but they seemed to pricey for something that would need to be recharged more often than my phone. I found that most of the Fitbits hold their charge for 4-5 days. Although I feel that the version Janelle picked out looks too much like a friendship bracelet, I did find a Fitbit (the Blaze) that certainly looks like a guy's watch.
I have to say that I'm a bit addicted. I keep find myself looking for my heartrate (which seems a bit high). I'm also surprised at how light and comfortable it is. Normally, I take off my watch when I get home, but the purpose of this health monitor is to keep it on. I hardly notice that it's there.
I'm particularly enamored with some of its connections to my phone. I am able to receive texts directly on the watch (and have asked a couple of people to text me so I could enjoy the feature) and I have limited control over my phone's music. Most of the other apps on the Fitbit seem rather limited, but I mostly wanted it as a watch and fitness tracker anyway.
I will try to refrain from updating people about my step totals.
