Lately, I've been getting the itch to play again. It started when I realized how much better live stream video connections have become. I thought about how I could use some of the skills that I used to deliver online course content to run a campaign online. Meanwhile, the Darths and Droids webcomic I've been reading in my spare time has been including a large number of tips (both tongue-in-cheek and legitimate) that have made me want to practice and polish my role-playing skills.
Unfortunately, the one thing that holds me back has been time. Until I get this dissertation completed (which will likely require another year), most of my creative energy is focused in that direction. It's hard to justify world- or campaign-building when there is still legitimate work to get done. Not to mention the difficulty with syncing a group of people's schedules and keeping them hooked.
This doesn't stop me from wanting to try.
