I am a bit disappointed with the current situation at the Kambe. Rather than have a separate ticket counter, tickets are purchased at the concession area. This led to a longer-than-expected wait time (especially since we don't buy movie popcorn at these prices), and we were already running a little late. Thankfully, they had plenty of previews, so we were well situated by the time the movie started.
This was Rowen's second movie at a theater, and he made the movie an even greater joy to watch (even if he did tell me multiple times that the experience would be better with popcorn and pop--he even made a point to show that the chairs had cupholders). His laughter, especially during scenes that focused on Baby Groot, were worth the price of admission alone.
The movie itself was enjoyable, if not as good as I hoped. There were several parts of the movie where I had to really crank up my suspension of disbelief. Still, as Janelle said later, you have to expect the unbelievable when watching a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. There was also more exposition than I really wanted in this sort of movie. However, I will say that the movie was quite beautiful, even in standard format (the original was the first movie that I really enjoyed seeing in 3D). I would not recommend watching this movie unless you've seen the first one as many of the relationships are built from their foundations there.
It was a fun show. I recommend watching it with people who appreciate goofy space adventures. I also think it is worth it to sit through the cr
