The beginning of July saw me in Michigan. I had the chance to catch up with friends and family before packing up a U-Haul and driving back up to Alaska.
Alex came up to Alaska with me and introduced me to Hello from the Magic Tavern, Overwatch, and a number of healthy meals.
I went fly fishing for the first time. Coincidentally, this meant that I also went salmon fishing for the first time. As of this point, I have not caught anything yet.
We've been able to rent our cabin for most of the month. While that alone has been exciting, the true gift has been the wonderful people whom we have met because of it.
I have also been exposed to the talent of Paul Feig, writer and director of The Heat, Spy, and the reboot of Ghostbusters (among others that I haven't seen). While some of his humor is certainly crude and vulgar, there is also an amazing amount of wit in his work as well. It's been a while since I've laughed until my head hurt, but all three of these movies had me in just that situation.
July has also been a month of unpacking. We still have a while to go, but our home is certainly shaping up.
I have a lot to look forward to in August, but I'm still sad to see July go.
