That has not been the only time lapse today. One of my classes barely had work time left over because our opening discussion went on a bit longer than I planned (which is why I normally set a timer for myself). During my prep, a short walk down to the office ended up taking half an hour. Later, a quick write-up of today's prom meeting almost made me late for our Thursday solidarity walk-out.
I am both amused and disturbed by the comparison someone once shared with me between a person's lifespan and a toilet paper roll. What seems to last forever in the beginning, quickly dwindles as it makes its way towards the last sheet. Considering how much time I seem to lose now in the middle (hopefully, early middle) of my life, I am a little terrified as to how fast that roll will be moving by the end.
