We had a very short break for lunch, but as I was hungry, I followed the group who chose food over shopping. We avoided the McDonalds, and went to a beautiful local restaurant. They said that the paella would take over half an hour to cook, but that the pizzas could be ready in fifteen minutes. … Time works differently in Spain, so we only just received our pizzas and paid when it was time to meet up with the group. The waiter was really apologetic and whispered to me, “The kitchen are a**hole.” [sic]
We then went on a walking tour that included the Toledo Cathedral, another church that held El Greco’s greatest masterpiece, and the oldest synagogue in Spain. My selfies were getting to blurred, so I switched to just taking pictures of some of the wonderful artwork. From there we drove to a damascene workshop which inlays gold into steel.
We returned to Madrid to watch an exquisite Flamenco dance. We then had a final celebratory dinner where I enjoyed both the food and the company. I really came to like the people on this trip in such a short amount of time. Thankfully, they seemed willing to put up with my weird quirks.
It’s almost unbelievable that I will be home tomorrow.
