The meeting was long--I just got home a little bit ago. I sometimes question the value of my attendance at them. I feel that I've been a positive presence, but I am only one among many who show up. I also wonder how long I can keep this up, as well as wonder if I am attending these meetings as a way to avoid working on my dissertation.
Still, I've had several people comment that my being at these various meetings has had an influence. I also know that we are fighting not just for the livelihood of those who work in education, but also for the very future of our state. This is an effort that is worth my time.
... Which is why I'll be at the borough meeting tomorrow.
