I don't really feel like I've had a weekend. In fact, my relief was so great after my defense that I truly felt like it was Friday and that I had my weekend ahead of me. Even knowing that I have the entire work-week still ahead of me--and plenty of tasks that need to be completed--I feel a tremendous weight lifted now that my research is moving forward.
Interestingly, I've had the dates for my plan wrong. All of my tools have been telling me that I'm behind schedule, but it turns out that I shaved six months off of the normal time between prospectus approval and a successful proposal defense. Sure, my prospectus approval took nearly twelve months longer than the average (thanks to the complete rework that I had to do on my methodology and topic), but those trials may have honed some of my proposal so that I did not have to go through nearly as many revisions as normal this time around.
Hopefully, the IRB will give me approval on the first try as well and I can move even closer to being "on schedule."
