I acknowledge that a revolution might be the only way to bring about some changes that our country desperately needs, but I believe that it can be a revolution of ideas and minds (like the Scientific Revolution) rather than a revolution of violence and blood. With that in mind, I propose a new political party devoted to revolutionizing our country. The name needs work, and some of the ideas do too, but I have to start somewhere.
The Party of Enlightened Revolution stands on the following platforms:
The elimination of poverty. Allowing all people access to quality food, housing, healthcare, and education. Creating a more equitable system for the distribution of limited resources while still celebrating each person's individual gifts.
Building and supporting our nation's infrastructure. Creating and maintaining transportation systems (roads, railroads, canals) to promote trade and travel while balancing environmental and social impact. Continually modernizing utility infrastructure (including electric, water, and communications like high speed access to the Internet).
Exploration and expansion. Providing humanity the means to spread beyond our own planet, solar system, galaxy, as well as looking deeper into the realms of our own world. Giving all who want to be a part of this forward progress the ability to join.
The custodial care of the environment. Using the resources of our universe in a responsible manner that allows future generations to also enjoy their benefits.
Ethical advancement of business and technology. Encouraging private and public development of technology and economy while prosecuting businesses, organizations, and people who abuse the rights of others, who profit at the expense of others, or bring hazard to our future. Rewarding innovation in industry and science.
Limited bureaucracy and governmental transparency. Supporting a healthy bureaucracy for government consistency while removing old or outmoded systems and laws. Providing clear documents to the public that show the flow of resources.
Support of the arts. Ensuring that the arts are an important part of our children's educations. Providing incentives for the development of visual, musical, electronic, architectural, and other artistic forms.
At this point, all other political issues are up to individual candidates.
