I've been working at getting a children's choir going at our church. I've been practicing music with them before their Wednesday night Faith Formation classes. While it's not the most organized, the kids seem to like it and it's given me a reason to practice my guitar skills (although that also limits the music choices). Although our first mass with them singing is a week from Sunday, I've already been pleased to hear these kids sing out more during the regular masses (especially during the Gloria).
In other news, Janelle discovered today that she does not have to work on Thanksgiving (which had been both a concern and a possibility). That might not sound like a big deal, but the Thanksgiving meal REALLY should not be in my hands. This news lifted a weight I hadn't fully realized was there. She still has to work on Black Friday (and yes, I've already been looking at ads).
Also, while a little farther off, I'm excited about Katrina joining us for my birthday/movie marathon (oh, and Christmas). Rowen was disappointed to find that she was not also planning on coming up for his birthday (which is months later), but he grudgingly agreed that he would like to see her during Christmas anyway.
