There's enough hate out there without me contributing to it. So instead I'll just tell you about the younger boys' parent-teacher conferences today.
Connor and Rowen are both doing well in school. Rowen is excelling in math, while Connor is blasting through reading and writing. Both have been well-behaved in school and their teachers have remarked on each of their senses of humor. Rowen even had a breakthrough in his speech class this week, finally being able to consistently (if not all the time) form the "k" sound. He beamed when we told him that we learned that he "found his sound" and proudly demonstrated his new skill when we got home. He had been frustrated enough by this issue (although we didn't know it was the cause) that he had been telling us that he didn't want to go to school most of last week. His hesitancy suddenly changed yesterday, which happened to coincide with his newly developed ability.
I'm glad that they're doing well. I'm quite impressed with the staff at Sterling Elementary. They are employing pedagogically sound practices while also creating a very friendly and nurturing environment. It was a pleasant set of conferences.
