Unfortunately, not only does the pain make it uncomfortable to sit (I have to continually shift position), but it sends shooting pain into my lower back and legs every time I stand up. If you see me cautiously lifting myself out of a chair, you now know why. As far as I can tell, there isn't any treatment other than to try not to put too much pressure on the affected area. Despite what bullies used to tell me, you can't really put your butt in a sling.
To make things more frustrating, I've had the sensation for the past week that a pebble has been in my shoe, that or my sock has been bunching up under my toes. At first I blamed the new socks that my wife purchased for me. It was only after I noticed the same sensation when barefoot that I realized something else was the cause. In this case, one of the nerves between my toes is inflamed, pushing on the bones and giving the pebble sensation. The only real suggestions for this are to try and get better inserts (I'm using generic ones) and to use anti-inflamatories.
Neither of these conditions are terrible, but they are annoying and inconvenient. Worse, when I looked them up on the Internet, both conditions are supposed to be more common in women. Not that I am insecure in my masculinity ... but that just adds insult to ... well ... injury.
