Thus, I don't know all of the final results from my team's events. This tournament, being the last one before State, is the best attended, meaning that the level of competition is tighter than any other tournament aside from State itself. Still, three members of my team managed to get into the final round of their events. One was able to snag a 2nd place certificate, one a 4th, and we don't know the results about the third one.
Despite not as many students getting into the final round, nearly all of my group remarked that this was their favorite competition yet. They had multiple bonding moments throughout the tournament and established many friendly relationships (and some rivalries) with students from other schools. I was also repeatedly complimented about my students' positive attitudes and engaging friendliness.
Even though I had a blast, I am exhausted. I judged almost nonstop through yesterday and today, only getting to step back towards the end (one round out of pity, and one round because we were leaving early, but I judged a round between them). Add on a snowy drive at the end, and I'm more than ready to sleep in my own bed, content that we had another successful weekend.
